Answer to Question 1

Soil scientists study the physical, chemical, biological, and mineralogical composition of the soil. They study
the reaction that chemicals and practices have on the soil. They use this knowledge to analyze the soils in specific
locations. They develop soil surveys by using this information and aerial photographs, topographic maps,
and information from soil maps.

Answer to Question 2

The soil conservation technician assists soil conservationists. They work on farm planning and supervise the
implementation of conservation measures in the field. They must be able to operate equipment such as survey
equipment, transit levels, and other measuring devices.
