A soil and water conservation district is an association of local farmers, businesspersons, and others interested in the conservation
of local soil and water resources. It serves as a locally directed and managed group that advises local landowners



Answer to Question 2

The Weeks Law granted the president authority to purchase forest land for river watershed protection. It expanded
the federal government's role in the soil and water conservation effort in the United States
