Answer to Question 1

Eutrophication is when lakes or streams have too many nutrients in their water due to
excessive nutrient runoff. Problems caused by excessive nutrients are excessive algae
growth, oxygen depletion, and reduced water quality for aquatic life and for
recreational purposes.

Answer to Question 2

The hydrologic cycle is the cycle of water in the environment. It is important because it
is the way water is purified in nature.
