Answer to Question 1

None of the seeds should have future roots or leaves missing. If they were missing, it
would severely affect the plant's chances for survival



Answer to Question 2

Student answers will vary. Like the seed, the egg has an embryo, food supply, and a
hard, outer covering. However, once the chick breaks free of the egg, it has already
used up its entire food supply
