Answer to Question 1

When approaching a ferret, one should speak to it in a soft, gentle voice before attempting to pick it up. One
should grasp the ferret firmly around the body behind the forelegs. The ferret will go limp and allow itself to
be picked up. Place the other hand under the rear of the animal to support its body.

There are a number of colors now being bred: sable (the most common), red-eyed white, silver mitt, sterling
silver, white-footed sable, butterscotch, white-footed butterscotch, and the rare cinnamon
