Answer to Question 1

Six management practices that reduce or help to control turfgrass diseases are:
 Not overusing nitrogen fertilizer

Adding lime or sulfur as needed to maintain a pH of 6.0 to 6.5
Avoiding thatch buildup by collecting clippings or by raking and removing thatch
Watering only when necessary, and then watering deeply and waiting for at least a
week to repeat the watering; watering at night
Mowing frequently, and removing only one-third of the top growth at any one
mowing.
Keeping trees pruned to allow sufficient light for good growth
