More plants can be grown in the same area, thus reducing cost

The cost to produce a plant to marketable size is lower
Students should discuss at least four of the following disadvantages of growing plants in
containers:
The initial cost of getting established is higher
Personnel must be trained in potting technique, and watering becomes a more
precise growth factor in container growing
More water is required because the plants cannot tap soil reserves
