Answer to Question 1

It is formed into propagation cubes for seed germination and cutting
propagation. It is used in slabs for production of fresh flowers and vegetable
produce. It is produced in a granular form for incorporating into potting substrate.

Answer to Question 2

Nutrient solution is passed through an inclined channel in a thin film
over the plant roots either continuously or for 10 minutes out of every 15 minutes.
At the lower end of the channel the solution is collected and is then recirculated.
At least once per day the solution is tested for its pH and soluble salt levels. If
required, alterations are made at that time.
