Answer to Question 1

A Mediterranean climate has a wet mild temperature winter followed by a short spring and a long dry summer. A temperate climate has year-round rainfall and cold winters. A tropical climate has warm temperatures year round and either seasonal or year-round rainfall. A desert climate has hot summers and mild to cold winter temperatures (depending on elevation), and seasonal rainfall.

Answer to Question 2

It is period of leaf maturation, flowering, and fruit production. Plants accumulate energy during this period.
