Answer to Question 1

Advantages: You can produce a plant that is free of viruses, and it enables mass production of a cultivar from a relatively small amount of parent material.
Disadvantages: The disadvantage is that it is technologically complex.

Answer to Question 2

a. Remove disinfected meristem from plant

b. Place it in a test tube of growing medium and close with sterile cotton

c. Wait for the explant to increase in size

d. Divide the explant into pieces and transfer them to new test tubes.

e. Wait for the new plants to grow and establish roots and shoots

f. Transfer the small plantlets to pots

g. Transfer the plants to outdoor growing conditions.
