Which plant of the pair of choices would transpire more rapidly and, therefore, require more frequent watering?

Question 2

While you are away on vacation your friend forgets to water your cactus. The plant is not damaged, but it is so dry that the potting medium has pulled away from the sides of the pot and water runs straight through without rewetting the medium. How can you rewet the medium?

Rewet the medium by setting the pot in water until the medium swells and expands to fill the pot again.
