Answer to Question 1

Choose the appropriate variety or mixture of grass for the area. Check the label for purity of the seed and for when the last germination test was done, which should be within the past year.

Answer to Question 2

Selective herbicides kill only specific types of plants such as broadleaves; nonselective herbicides kill all species.
