Answer to Question 1

A
The body's heat regulation mechanism is located in the hypothalamus. When the body is overheated, the sympathetic nerves in the autonomic nervous system, controlled by the anterior hypothalamus, send a signal to the sweat glands. This trigger by the hypothalamus transmits impulses to reduce body heat by triggering perspiration. If there is a decrease in body heat, the hypothalamus transmits impulses to stimulate heat production.

Answer to Question 2

B
The HMOs often maintain primary health care sites and commonly employ provider professionals. They use capitated rates or a flat fee, assume the risk of patients who are heavy users, and exert control on the use of services. HMOs have been noted for their use of advanced practice registered nurses, precertification programs to limit unnecessary hospitalizations, and emphasis on client education for health promotion and self-care.
