Answer to Question 1

D
Locus of control is a person's perception of the source of control over events and situations that affect the person's life. If the individual believes that health is controlled by an external source, there may be less motivation for action. This is often influenced by the individual's self-esteem. In the bargaining form of power to make health decisions, family members reach an agreement by give and take. In the coercion model of decision-making, a family member uses coercion to maintain power. This is often interpreted as abuse. De facto decision-making is making no decision and allowing a condition to take its course.

Answer to Question 2

B
One of the greatest fears associated with advancing age is poor health. Everyone wants to live a long life as long as it is a healthy life, but the reality is that the elderly have more health problems than the general population. A healthy life is a good quality life.
