Answer to Question 1

D
Scoliosis involves lateral curvature greater than 20 degrees, spinal rotation, rib asymmetry, and thoracic hypokyphosis. Clinical manifestations include a visible curve of the spine, posterior rib hump when bending forward, asymmetrical rib cage, and uneven shoulder or pelvis heights. The client may complain of a sore back, improperly fitting clothing, or a slight limp. Initial treatment is with a back brace to correct the curvature. Noncompliance is often the result of further development of curvature.

Answer to Question 2

C
Risk factors for developing cancer can be classified as environmental, lifestyle, genetic, and viral. Choices about diet and exposure to the sun's ultraviolet rays are also related to lifestyle. The link between dietary intake and the development of some types of cancer continues to be investigated; obesity, low dietary fiber and high dietary fat intake, and certain food additives are currently considered to be risk factors.
