Answer to Question 1

A
The activity theory states that roles and responsibilities change throughout the lifetime. Life satisfaction depends on maintaining an involvement with life by developing new interests, hobbies, roles, and relationships.

Answer to Question 2

A
Prerenal ARF is caused by any abnormal decline in kidney perfusion that reduces glomerular perfusion. Fluid volume status does not indicate perfusion. Fluid volume excess, such as low cardiac output due to heart failure, causes prerenal failure. Since the renal tubules are structurally intact, the kidneys can resume normal functioning if perfusion is restored fairly quickly. Treatment includes administering IV fluids, albumin, plasma, or blood for prerenal ARF related to fluid volume deficit.
