The nurse should use pillows to provide a comfortable position to the client. Pillows are primarily used for comfort, but they are also used to elevate a part of the body, relieve swelling, promote breathing, or help to maintain a therapeutic position. The client can be seated on a chair, but it does not provide comfort when the client is experiencing breathlessness. Side rails and headboards do not provide comfortable positions.
