Answer to Question 1

1,2,3
Rationale 1: The body systems model focuses on abnormalities.

Answer to Question 2

2,3
Rationale: Elevating the arm will help to make gravity work with the body to reduce edema, and applications of heat will cause vasodilation, which will also help to remove excess fluid. The nurse must use caution when applying heat to avoid burning the client. Massage of the arm could cause additional trauma. Increasing activity levels will have no helpful affect, and it is not necessary to keep the client supine so long as the arm is elevated in whatever position the client assumes.

Though Candida and Aspergillus species are the most common fungal pathogens causing invasive fungal disease in the immunocompromised, infections due to previously uncommon hyaline and dematiaceous filamentous fungi are occurring more often today. Rare fungal infections, once accurately diagnosed, may require surgical debridement, immunotherapy, and newer antifungals used singly or in combination with older antifungals, on a case-by-case basis.

Chronic necrotizing aspergillosis has a slowly progressive process that, unlike invasive aspergillosis, does not spread to other organ systems or the blood vessels. It most often affects middle-aged and elderly individuals, spreading to surrounding tissue in the lungs. The disease often does not respond to conventionally successful treatments, and requires individualized therapies in order to keep it from becoming life-threatening.
