Answer to Question 1

C
As a nursing student, the nurse will learn the skills involved in nursing advocacy and assume the role of advocate in order to promote the health of people. Advocacy is the key to leadership at all levels.
Nursing leaders may be involved with policy development; this is not the role of the nursing student.
Nursing leaders may be involved with promoting healthy work environments; this is not usually identified as the role of the nursing student.
Nursing leaders may be involved with integrating quality improvement; this is not usually identi-fied as the role of the nursing student.

Answer to Question 2

C
When a patient becomes suddenly confused, the priority is to assess the patient, including checking laboratory test and oxygen status and treating and eliminating the cause of the change in mental status. If interventions and alternatives are exhausted, the nurse working with the physician may determine the need for restraints.
