Answer to Question 1

ANS: C
A partial bed bath is performed when only part of the body is washed. A complete bed bath is for patients who are completely bedridden or are totally dependent on others for care. A shower is usually for patients who are strong enough to shower independently. A sink bath is when the patient washes while standing or sitting in front of a bath basin or sink.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: A
Washing from distal to proximal promotes circulation and blood return. Asepsis is the state of being free from disease-causing contaminates. There is no difference in comfort. Tradition is a custom.
