Overall, quinolones are fairly well tolerated, although gastrointestinal (GI) adverse effects are most common. The typical complaints include dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and flatulence.

Factors that are considered absolute contraindications to use of thrombolytic therapy include ex-periencing CVA within the previous 3 months, aneurysm, intracranial neoplasm, and platelet count under 100,000 mm3.
