ANS: B
Sulfonamides increase serum levels of alkaline phosphatase, aspartate aminotransferase, and cre-atinine, and the bilirubin may be elevated.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: A
Peak and trough serum drug levels are drawn to determine the adequacy of the calculated dose and to allow for changes to be made if necessary before nephrotoxicity or ototoxicity occurs.
