Answer to Question 1

A, C, D
Adequate fluid intake (1500 to 2000 mL), bulk foods in the diet, and regular daily exercise are important strategies to prevent constipation. Patients should be taught to use the bathroom right away when the urge to have a bowel movement occurs. At least 9 ounces of fluid should be giv-en with oral laxatives so that they can be safe and effective.

Answer to Question 2

A
Fatty foods tend to reduce intestinal absorption and make drug-induced diarrhea worse. Although fiber can prevent some types of diarrhea, it is of no benefit for diarrhea associated with antiviral drug therapy.
