Answer to Question 1

D
Patients should not drink grapefruit juice while taking fibrate drugs such as fenofibrate, because the effectiveness of these drugs is decreased by grapefruit juice. It interferes with the metabolism (breakdown) of fibrates in the body.

Answer to Question 2

D
With capillary leak, blood plasma leaks into the tissues causing swelling and pain. The swelling creates a cushion of fluid to prevent more tissue injury. Swelling alone can compress pain receptors (nociceptors) and result in pain perception.
