Answer to Question 1

B
Statin drugs are pregnancy category X and should not be taken by women who plan to become pregnant, are pregnant, or are breastfeeding. These drugs decrease the amount of fat in the body. Fat is essential to brain development in the fetus and infant. When there is not enough fat in the body during pregnancy and infancy, the results can be poor brain development and mental retar-dation.
