Answer to Question 1

A
The enteral route involves using the GI system. Not all drugs are completely absorbed from this area, and because drugs absorbed in the GI tract first undergo some liver metabolism before en-tering systemic circulation (resulting in first pass loss), drugs administered enterally always have a lower bioavailability than those administered by the parenteral route.

Answer to Question 2

B
The most common physiologic change that increases blood pressure is narrowing or constricting of the small arteries. Drugs that cause blood vessels to relax or dilate are most effective at lo-wering blood pressure.
