  1. Tegretol.
  2. Phenobarbital.
  3. Klonopin.
  4. Valium.

You are a nurse taking care of an older adult patient with hypertension. He was prescribed a hypertensive medication but has decided to use a cheaper herbal product he can buy over the counter and thinks will lower his blood pressure.

Diazepam (Valium) is used intravenously to control seizures and is the drug of choice for treat-ment of status epilepticus.
