Adefovir is used in patients who have no clinical or laboratory evidence of HIV infection.
HIV, renal insufficiency, and allergy to purine derivatives are contraindications to treatment with adefovir.

Answer to Question 2

B
The patient is displaying signs and symptoms of lidocaine toxicity, which is managed with di-azepam or phenytoin.
Digoxin, verapamil, and quinidine are not indicated for the management of lidocaine toxicity.
