A patient has been taking metronidazole for a protozoal infection. The patient telephones a nurse and reports, My urine has turned a very dark color. The nurse should explain:

Narcotic analgesics can be safely administered with atropine.
Antihistamines, phenothiazine antipsychotics, and tricyclic antidepressants all produce significant muscarinic blockade and therefore should not be administered with atropine.
