Bone marrow stores iron, but so does the liver and muscles, therefore the patient with lymphoma is at a lower risk.
Vegetarians can achieve their daily iron requirements by eating iron enriched cereals and breads, most citrus fruits, broccoli, and tomatoes.
The patient with breast cancer has a lower risk of iron deficiency anemia than does the patient who has had a gastrectomy.
