D. Discard unused portions of drugs or outdated drugs in sink or toilet. Ensures that no one in household uses drug not prescribed for his or her use or drugs that will be ineffective pharmacologically.
A. Insulin may be stored in refrigerator, but it is not necessary. The vial in use can be stored at room temperature for up to 30 days without losing potency.
B. Puncture-resistant sharps container or 2-L soda bottle with cap should be used; paper bags are not puncture resistant.
C. Do not place different medicines in same container. This prevents accidental mix-up of medications and medication error.

A. Atrial fibrillation: Rapid, random contractions of atria cause irregular ventricular beats at 130 to 150 beats per minute.
B. Sinus tachycardia: Pulse rhythm is regular, but rate is accelerated to more than 100 beats per minute.
C. Premature ventricular contraction: Premature beat occurs before regularly expected heart contraction.
D. Sinus dysrhythmia: Pulse rate changes during respiration, increasing at peak of inspiration and declining during expiration.
