The mission of the CDC's Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response (COTPER) is to protect the health and enhance the living of all people in terms of community preparedness and response. The American Medical Association has developed a series of National Disaster Life Support courses designed to provide a uniform, coordinated approach to all-hazards disaster management, but these courses are not designed specifically to combat terrorism.
