Answer to Question 1

ANS: A, C, D, E
For an infiltration, stop the infusion. Elevate the affected limb. Assess for circulatory compromise; check capillary refill and pulses proximal and distal to the area of infiltration. If the infiltration is caused by an IV solution, remove the catheter as directed by policy. For extravasation, attempts may be made to aspirate the medication.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: C
Beta-adrenergic blockers can produce severe bronchoconstriction . Selective beta-1 antagonists are used to treat hypertension. Alpha-adrenergic blocking agents are used to treat patients with Raynaud's disease. Beta-adrenergic blocking agents are indicated for patients with cardiac arrhythmias.
