Answer to Question 1

ANS: B, C
Schedule II drugs have a high potential for abuse, they are currently accepted in the United States, and use may lead to severe psychological or physical dependence. Percodan and amphetamines are considered Schedule II drugs. Marijuana is a Schedule I drug. Fiorinal is a Schedule III drug. Flurazepam is a Schedule IV drug.

Answer to Question 2

ANS: B, D
The Physicians' Desk Reference, Section 4, has full color images of commonly dispensed tablets and capsules. The patient's pharmacy would have an accurate account of all the medications the client is currently taking. MartindaleThe Complete Drug Reference has written information on medications and would not be an appropriate resource. The senior citizens' center is not likely to have specific patient medication information.

People who have myopia, or nearsightedness, are not able to see objects at a distance but only up close. It occurs when the cornea is either curved too steeply, the eye is too long, or both. This condition is progressive and worsens with time. More than 100 million people in the United States are nearsighted, but only 20% of those are born with the condition. Diet, eye exercise, drug therapy, and corrective lenses can all help manage nearsightedness.
