Heidi is interested in determining the probability that a randomly selected student in her statistics class earned a passing grade (A, B, C, or D) on the first test. She reasons that each student earned either a passing grade (P) or a failing grade (F) and constructs the sample space S = P,F. Are the sample points equally likely or not equally likely?

Explain why the following statement is true: if A is an event of a sample space S, then it is possible that P(A) = 1.
