A hypothesis test is conducted to determine if a refrigeration unit is cooling at 36o. A sample of size 16 resulted in the following statistical output:
  One-Sample T: Cooling
  Test of mu = 36 vs not = 36
Variable N Mean StDev SE Mean 95 CI T P
  Cooling 16 34.0000 2.0656 0.5164 (32.8993, 35.1007) -3.87 0.002
1.Reject the null, the refrigerator is not cooling statistically different than 36.
2.Reject the null, the refrigerator is cooling statistically different than 36.
3.Fail to reject the null, the refrigerator is not cooling statistically different than 36.
4.Fail to reject the null, the refrigerator is cooling statistically different than 36.

Question 2

The notation, t(20,0.025), for the confidence coefficient is interpreted as
  1.the critical value of the t-distribution with  = 20 and  = 0.025.
  2.the critical value of the t-distribution with n = 20 and  = 0.025.
3.the critical value of the t-distribution with df = 20 and left tail area of 0.025.
4.the critical value of the t-distribution with df = 20 and right tail area of 0.025.

This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.
