ANS: Hazzanut are non-pulsatile sung prayers that are based on certain scales and
melodic motives.

ANS: The Ashkenazi are the Jewish people who settled in Central and Eastern
Europe. They retained many of the non-diatonic modes that are used in the Middle East, as
well as a modal basis for improvisatory performance
