How is the beat divided in the slow blues, Poor Boy Blues (CD 1:21)? Tap your foot to the basic slow beat of the selection and listen to what the guitar plays when Lucas pauses in his singing.

 Each slow beat is divided into three quicker notes/units (triplets).

Answer to Question 2

 The words of the song don't speak directly for Bill Lucas' personal experiences, but they do speak generally for it and other similar people who have been forced by circumstances into hard times.
 Answers to the other parts of the question will vary.
