A small charge that resembles a 22-caliber blank cartridge.

Answer to Question 2

The first dimension given, 2 inches is the length of the bolt. The second dimension,  inch, is the outside or major diameter of the bolt. The letters NC refer to the fact that this a national coarse threaded bolt. It has twenty threads per inch, and the bolt has a hex head.
