Answer to Question 1

A steam humidifier provides the energy required to evaporate the water and does not rely on heat in the air. Steam humidifiers can control the system fan to provide humidification on demand, even if there is no call for heat.

Answer to Question 2

The amount of heat absorbed by the evaporator + the heat added by the compressor
