Answer to Question 1

Divide the k value by the thickness 2 / 6 = 0.2 conductivity
Find the reciprocal 1 / 0.2 = 5
R Value = 5

Answer to Question 2

A small pump draws air over a platinum diode located at the end of the test wand.
