Answer to Question 1

Sensible heat causes a change in the refrigerant temperature while latent heat causes a change in the refrigerant state. Much less refrigerant has to be circulated if the refrigerant's latent properties are used rather than its sensible properties because refrigerants absorb much more heat while changing state than they do while changing temperature.

Answer to Question 2

Refrigerant is the fluid used in a refrigeration system for transferring heat. Refrigerants in mechanical refrigeration systems do this by changing their physical state. They absorb heat by evaporating from a liquid to a vapor; they release heat by condensing from a vapor back to a liquid.

The use of salicylates dates back 2,500 years to Hippocrates’s recommendation of willow bark (from which a salicylate is derived) as an aid to the pains of childbirth. The human body's pharmacokinetics are quite varied. Our hair holds onto drugs longer than our urine, blood, or saliva. For example, alcohol can be detected in the hair for up to 90 days after it was consumed. The same is true for marijuana, cocaine, ecstasy, heroin, methamphetamine, and nicotine.

There are major differences in the metabolism of morphine and the illegal drug heroin. Morphine mostly produces its CNS effects through m-receptors, and at k- and d-receptors. Heroin has a slight affinity for opiate receptors. Most of its actions are due to metabolism to active metabolites (6-acetylmorphine, morphine, and morphine-6-glucuronide).
