Answer to Question 1

Relay logic is like a light switch  when the switch is on the light operates, when the switch is off the light is off. A communicating control system is more like a computer network. The units respond to commands sent over the communication network, not the presence or absence of control voltage.

Answer to Question 2

It is crushed from the cubes.
