A frost sensing switch shuts off the compressor when the evaporator coil starts to frost.

Answer to Question 2

Dehumidifier capacity is listed in pints per day. The amount of water the unit can remove operating continuously for 24 hours at ANSI/AHAM DH-1-2003 standard conditions: 60RH, 80F.
