Training must focus on hazard recognition and avoidance and should cover the following topics as appropriate for the specific job site:
 Air monitoring
 Ventilation and illumination
 Communication
 Flood control
 Equipment: mechanical and personal protective
 Explosives, fire prevention, and fire protection
 Emergency procedures: check-in, check-out, and evacuation plans

Answer to Question 2

This written authorization must notify the steel erection contractor that concrete used in footings has wither: a) cured to at least 75 percent of its intended minimum compressive design strength; or b) has cured sufficiently to support the loads that will be imposed during erection.
