Answer to Question 1

B

Answer to Question 2

Bid shopping is illegal and in order to try and prevent it from occurring contractors might have to submit a list of the subcontractors that they plan to hire if they are awarded a project. Bid shopping occurs after a contractor is awarded a contract. If the prime contractor did not provide a list of their subcontractors when the bid was submitted then he or she could contact different subcontractors from the ones they originally received sub bids from and inquire are to whether they would be willing to perform the work for a lower price and if the subcontractor is willing to reduce their price then they are awarded the subcontract. If prime contractors bid shop the contractors are able to increase their profit margin by the difference between the originally quoted subcontractor bid prices and the lower prices quoted by the subcontractors after they are awarded the bid.
