Answer to Question 1

The primary benefit of scheduling a project on a network is that the information
is readily available to all users. Global changes and other updates are communicated
quickly to all on a network. The chance of communicating misinformation is diminished
in this way. This also saves time, money, and effort.
A disadvantage, though not compelling, is that the information may not be secure. Power
outages can also impact all projects if heavy reliance is placed on a network. The initial
costs of such systems are also considerable. It may take additional time for all users to
learn the system.

Answer to Question 2

There are perhaps several uses of the information so presented. First, it serves
as an accurate portrayal of when the various activities were actually performed. This
information or historical record can be used to develop an as built schedule. By being
able to view the activities that took place the previous week, it is easier to grasp the pace
of performance for the activities that must be completed in the upcoming week. This is
especially true if some tasks are repetitive and the cycle is on a weekly basis.
