Answer to Question 1

A baseline schedule is created usually at the beginning of a project for the
purpose of measuring the project's progress against it. It provides a measuring stick for
comparing the as-built schedule. It is used not only as a management tool for
determining the accuracy of planning efforts, but also as a basis for any construction
delay claims.

Answer to Question 2

The data date line is a vertical line on a Gantt chart representing the current
date. It helps in viewing a schedule by providing a helpful graphical view of the current
date on the project timescale. It helps in analyzing a schedule by helping to figure out the
number of days to completion, which is calculated from this date.
