Answer to Question 1

c

Answer to Question 2

Supernova shock waves are capable of triggering star formation, and the formation of the Sun may have been triggered by a supernova. Supernovae are responsible for producing elements heavier than carbon, so most of the material that the Earth is made of comes from supernova events. Most chemical elements required for life also are created in supernovae. Nearby supernovae can have a negative effect on life on Earth. The eruption of a nearby supernova may have been responsible for an extinction event two million years ago.
