Compare the orbital motion of stars in the Galactic disk with those in the halo.

Answer to Question 1

Stars in the disk orbit the galactic center uniformly, with the same circular motion in roughly the same orbital plane. The orbits of halo stars are randomly oriented, may be perpendicular to, and pass through the disk, and are not all in one direction.
